Ukrainian forces have successfully targeted Russian air defense infrastructure in\u00a0temporarily occupied Crimea and a\u00a0drone storage facility near the city of\u00a0Donetsk, according to\u00a0the General Staff of\u00a0the Armed Forces of\u00a0Ukraine on\u00a0January\u00a017.<\/p>\n

In\u00a0Crimea, Ukrainian forces hit two critical components of\u00a0Russia\u2019s air defense network. According to\u00a0the General Staff, a\u00a0Nebo-U radar system was struck<\/a> in\u00a0the vicinity of\u00a0Yevpatoria, a\u00a0western coastal city on\u00a0the peninsula. <\/p>\n

Additionally, a\u00a0Pantsir-S1 surface-to-air missile and anti-aircraft gun system was hit near the settlement of\u00a0Khutorok in\u00a0the same district.<\/p>\n

Separately, in\u00a0the temporarily Russian-occupied part of\u00a0Donetsk region, Ukrainian forces reportedly targeted a\u00a0site used by\u00a0Russian troops to\u00a0store and prepare unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for deployment.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe extent of\u00a0the damage is\u00a0currently being assessed,\u201d the Ukrainian military noted in\u00a0its official update.<\/p>\n

While no\u00a0images or\u00a0independent assessments of\u00a0the aftermath have yet been released, the General Staff emphasized that Ukrainian forces \u201ccontinue to\u00a0systematically destroy enemy capabilities.\u201d<\/p>\n

Both the Nebo-U radar and Pantsir-S1 systems play key roles in\u00a0Russia\u2019s integrated air defense architecture. The Nebo-U is\u00a0designed to\u00a0detect aerial threats at\u00a0long range, including stealth aircraft and cruise missiles, while the Pantsir-S1 is\u00a0used for close-in protection of\u00a0strategic sites.<\/p>\n

Earlier, Ukraine\u2019s military intelligence reported<\/a> that its combat drone units destroyed a\u00a0Russian S\u2011300V air defense launcher and two 1L125 Niobiy\u2011SV radar systems during a\u00a0nighttime strike in\u00a0the Donbas in\u00a0late November 2025, releasing video footage of\u00a0the operation to\u00a0show the targeted hits on\u00a0key components of\u00a0Russia\u2019s air defense network.<\/p>\n
