Police have been given extra powers to deal with anti-social behaviour at two retail parks in Carmarthenshire<\/a>. A dispersal order under Section 34 of the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 has been authorised for the Trostre Retail and Pemberton Park areas of Llanelli<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It is in effect from 12pm on Saturday until 12am on Monday, and is in response to anti-social behaviour in the area. Covered within the dispersal order is Morrisons, Tesco, Premier Inn and McDonald’s in the area.<\/p>\n

A spokeswoman for Dyfed-Powys Police said: “A dispersal order under Section 34 of the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 has been authorised for the Trostre Retail and Pemberton Park areas of Llanelli. The notice is effective from 12pm today (January 17) until 12am on Monday, January 19.<\/p>\n

“The order has been authorised by Dyfed-Powys Police in response to increased anti-social behaviour in the area over the past week.<\/p>\n

“This means officers in Llanelli will have extra powers to deal with anyone involved in anti-social behaviour during this time period.<\/p>\n

“Under the dispersal notice, officers will be able to instruct anybody who is causing, or is likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress to leave the area. They will also have the power to seize any property which officers suspect is being used to cause antisocial behaviour. Those who refuse to comply with the order are committing a criminal offence and are liable for arrest.”<\/p>\n
