Rangers could have just made a statement signing in their search for silverware this season.<\/strong><\/p>\n

That is according to ex-Aberdeen, Aston Villa, and Everton chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to\u00a0Football Insider<\/strong>, after Rangers signed Andreas Skov Olsen from Wolfsburg on loan<\/a> for the rest of the season.<\/p>\n

The 26-year-old was unveiled to the Ibrox crowd before Rangers\u2019 5-0 Scottish Cup win against Annan Athletic<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The winger becomes the third signing under Danny Rohl in the January transfer window, with the German looking to bolster his squad in a bid to win the Scottish Premiership title.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Aberdeen\u2019s former chief\u00a0Keith Wyness<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 who served as CEO at Pittodrie between 2000 and 2004, had lengthy spells as the chief of Everton and Aston Villa and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs \u2013 is backing Skov Olsen to \u201cflourish\u201d at Rangers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Speaking on the new edition of\u00a0Football Insider<\/strong>\u2018s Inside Track podcast<\/a>, Wyness thinks Skov Olsen could also benefit from the move to Ibrox.<\/p>\n

He told\u00a0Football Insider<\/strong>\u2018s Inside Track podcast: \u201cYeah, look, I think he\u2019s had about 40 international caps and there\u2019s no doubt he plays, but he\u2019s not done that well at Wolfsburg.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think he could\u00a0actually flourish\u00a0at Ibrox.\u00a0I think the Scottish league\u00a0is perfect for him and I think he will be success there.\u00a0So\u00a0I think that will be a big upgrade for Rangers and I think that having that experience in the squad as well is something that would be helpful. And\u00a0I\u2019m\u00a0backing Danny Rohl to get the best out of him out of that.\u00a0I\u00a0don\u2019t\u00a0think\u00a0he\u2019s\u00a0going to\u00a0be buying\u00a0any duds. <\/p>\n

\u201cI think\u00a0he\u2019s\u00a0going to be able to get the best out of a player who may have just not adapted to Germany well, but I think he could do very well at Ibrox. So yes,\u00a0I\u2019m\u00a0a big fan\u00a0of that\u00a0particular signing.\u201c<\/p>\n

The addition of Skov Olsen to the Rangers squad may not be good news for one player, who has struggled to make an impact since his arrival.<\/p>\n

Oliver Antman\u2019s future at Rangers is now uncertain<\/a>, and the club could accept offers for the 24-year-old, just months into his time at Ibrox.<\/p>\n
