Kip Williams\u2019 new stage version of Bram Stoker\u2019s Dracula<\/strong><\/a> has cancelled its first three West End preview performances.<\/p>\n

Starring Wicked\u2019s Cynthia Erivo<\/a><\/strong>, Dracula was originally scheduled to start at the Noel Coward Theatre on 4 February 2026, playing until 31 May 2026.<\/p>\n

However, producers have now cancelled the first three performances on Wednesday 4 February, Thursday 5 February and Friday 6 February, with the show now starting previews on Saturday 7 February 2026.<\/p>\n

To make up for the three cancelled performances, new dates will be added on Saturday 28 February, Saturday 14 March, and Tuesday 17 March. Ticket holders with cancelled dates will be contacted by the theatre\u2019s box office.<\/p>\n

As with Kip Williams\u2019<\/a><\/strong> multi-award-winning version of Oscar Wilde\u2019s The Picture of Dorian Gray starring Sarah Snook, the show combines live video, pre-recorded film and a live performance from Cynthia Erivo for the piece.<\/p>\n

The complicated technical nature of the production has led to the initial preview cancellations, with communications to existing customers saying: \u201cAs Dracula moves through the final stages of preparation, the technical scale of the production has demanded additional time to ensure audiences experience this story exactly as it is intended.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tony, Emmy and Grammy Award-winner Cynthia Erivo<\/a> plays Dracula and 22 other roles in this one-person West End play, from the na\u00efve solicitor Jonathan Harker and his fianc\u00e9e Mina Murray to confidante Lucy Westenra, her suitors, and the formidable vampire hunter Van Helsing, as well as the infamous Count Dracula.<\/p>\n

Promising to be a riveting study of the monster within, the play is set in a ruined castle, high in the wilderness, where a mysterious presence is lurking. Is it man or beast? Angel or demon? For centuries, Count Dracula has held his remote corner of the world in a vice-grip of terror. But evil is on the move and the residents of London will soon fall under its bewitching, transformative spell.<\/p>\n

The soundtrack for Dracula will feature a mix of classical, contemporary and club music, and Cynthia Erivo is set to sing in the show, performing one song composed by Clemence Williams.<\/p>\n

Kip Williams\u2019 production of Dracula was first staged at Sydney Theatre Company in 2024 starring Zahra Newman, and is the final instalment in Kip\u2019s Gothic cine-theatre trilogy that also included\u00a0The Picture of Dorian Gray\u00a0and\u00a0the\u00a0Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde.<\/p>\n

Williams reunites with Olivier Award-winning designer Marg Horwell and lighting designer Nick Schlieper for the play<\/a>, in a team that also includes sound designer\u00a0Jessica Dunn, video designer\u00a0Craig Wilkinson,\u00a0composer Clemence Williams, and dramaturg\u00a0Zahra Newman.<\/p>\n

Dracula marks Cynthia Erivo\u2019s return to the West End stage following her Tony Award-winning performance as Celie in The Color Purple in London and New York.<\/p>\n
