{"id":707181,"date":"2026-01-19T21:21:19","date_gmt":"2026-01-19T21:21:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/707181\/"},"modified":"2026-01-19T21:21:19","modified_gmt":"2026-01-19T21:21:19","slug":"the-hampden-pour-could-scotland-fans-finally-be-allowed-to-have-a-pint-at-the-national-stadium","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/707181\/","title":{"rendered":"The Hampden Pour&#8230; could Scotland fans FINALLY be allowed to have a pint at the national stadium?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"author-section byline-plain\">By CALUM CROWE <\/p>\n<p class=\"byline-section\"> Published:  14:53 EST, 19 January 2026   |  Updated:  15:08 EST, 19 January 2026   <\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Scotland\u00a0fans could be allowed to drink inside Hampden for at least one of the World Cup warm-up matches as part of a pilot scheme that would lift the ban on <a style=\"font-weight: bold;\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/alcohol\/index.html\" id=\"mol-63613cd0-f56e-11f0-80de-0f4611af2049\" rel=\"noopener\">alcohol<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">It was confirmed yesterday that Steve Clarke\u2019s side will face home friendly matches against Japan in March and Curacao in May.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">There will also be two more matches played away from home against opponents who are yet to be confirmed as the Scots look to build form ahead of this summer\u2019s World Cup Finals.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">And plans are now afoot for the SFA to introduce the sale of alcohol at the national stadium for at least one of the home fixtures, with several SPFL clubs having already completed similar trials this season.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Speaking at Hampden, chief executive Ian Maxwell told STV: \u2018We\u2019ve been heavily involved in those conversations.
