The Clifton Suspension Bridge<\/a> closed this evening as filming for a BBC<\/a> drama took place.<\/p>\n

The closure, which came into effect from 7.30pm, will last until 1am as the scene is filmed.<\/p>\n

The ‘What’s Filming In Bristol’ account on X, formerly Twitter<\/a>, said that a scene for Casualty was being filmed tonight (Monday, January 19).<\/p>\n

A diversion route is currently in place for all traffic which follows Bridge Valley Road, Brunel Way and the A369 Rownham Hill.<\/p>\n

Clifton<\/a> Suspension Bridge posted on Facebook<\/a> that motorists using the diversion route, between 7.30pm and 1am would be exempt from the Clean Air Zone.<\/p>\n

It apologised for any inconvenience caused.<\/p>\n

It added that by keeping the road open during the rush hour, it hoped it minimised the disruption.<\/p>\n

The post said: “The Clifton Suspension Bridge will be closed to all vehicle traffic tonight, from 7:30pm until 1:00am, to allow for the filming of a scene for a BBC drama.<\/p>\n

“A diversion route will be signed, using Bridge Valley Road, Brunel Way and A369 Rownham Hill and traffic following the official signed diversion routes from the bridge during these times will be exempt from Bristol City Council<\/a>\u2019s Clean Air Zone.<\/p>\n

“Clifton Suspension Bridge Trust wishes to apologise for the inconvenience which this closure will cause.<\/p>\n
