<\/p>\nA 46-year-old man died in the three-vehicle collision on May 2.<\/p>\n
A man has died in a horror<\/a> crash involving two cars and a bicycle on a country road in Edinburgh<\/a>.<\/p>\n A blue Skoda Octavia car, a black Mercedes<\/a> Vito taxi and a bicycle were involved in the fatal crash on the A70 near Kirknewton at around 11.30pm on May 2.<\/p>\n Emergency services including police and ambulances rushed to the scene<\/a>.<\/p>\n The 46-year-old driver of the car<\/a> was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n The taxi driver was taken to hospital and later discharged. The cyclist did not require medical treatment.<\/p>\n Traffic cops closed the road to carry out full investigation work and it re-opened around 9am on Saturday, 3 May.<\/p>\n Cops are now keen to speak to a second<\/a> taxi driver who was reportedly at the scene.<\/p>\n Sergeant Grant Hastie said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the man who has died. Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances<\/a> and we are asking anyone who saw what happened to get in touch.<\/p>\n “We are particularly keen to trace a second taxi driver who may have witnessed this crash. His next of kin have been informed. The road was closed for six hours to allow for investigations to take place and re-opened around 3.30pm.<\/p>\n Sergeant Fraser Mitchell said: \u201cOur thoughts are with the family of the man who died. Our enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.<\/p>\n \u201cI am appealing for anyone who saw the crash<\/a> who hasn\u2019t already spoken to officers to get in touch.
