The two clubs are looking to bring Borussia M\u00f6nchengladbach\u2019s Tomas Cvancara to Celtic Park or Ibrox in the winter market.<\/p>\n<p>The German media has already reported Rangers\u2019 efforts to try and secure the striker\u2019s services.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, <a href=\"https:\/\/sportwitness.co.uk\/rangers-move-for-borussia-monchengladbach-player-released-from-training-for-transfer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fussball Europa reported<\/a> he could he heading to Ibrox after R\u00f6hl\u2019s side made a move to sign him. They also stated the Bundesliga side released him from yesterday\u2019s training. There was no mention of Celtic.<\/p>\n<p>Rangers are now in for disappointment because O\u2019Neill\u2019s side have overtaken them in the transfer race. That\u2019s at least what<a href=\"https:\/\/sport.sky.de\/fussball\/artikel\/transfer-update-news\/12478082\/33895\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Sky Deutschland<\/a> are reporting, and they cover Celtic\u2019s rapid agreement with the German club.<\/p>\n<p>According to them, Celtic reached an agreement with Gladbach to sign the Czech Republic international on Tuesday. The agreement will see the 25-year-old move on loan until the end of this season, with an option to buy.<\/p>\n<p>Sky didn\u2019t mention the purchase clause fee. The German TV claims he\u2019s on his way to the UK to carry out medical tests with Celtic on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>If there are no last-minute surprises or a late attempt from Rangers to hijack this deal, Cvancara will join Celtic.<\/p>\n<p>Gladbach signed the Czech Republican from Sparta Prague in July 2023 for a reported fee of \u20ac10.5m. They are unlikely to recover this amount if Celtic were to make his stay permanent in the summer.<\/p>\n<p>Last July, the German club allowed him to join Antalyaspor on a season-long loan deal. His temporary stay has already been terminated.
