The mum of a young man who was missing in Thailand for nine days has issued a heart breaking update confirming his body has now been found.<\/p>\n

Joshua Kershaw<\/a>, from Grimsby, was last seen in the tourist town of Pattaya<\/a> on January 12. The 21-year-old was due to board a flight home from Bangkok on January 19 at 8.30pm local time. However, it was confirmed he did not board that flight, and a search was launched with the UK authorities classing him as a high-risk missing person.<\/p>\n

To help with the cause the family launched an appeal to find Joshua, from Grimsby and a GoFundMe appeal was also set up. But this morning (Wednesday) his mum Jenny, from Wakefield, issued a heart breaking update.<\/p>\n

She posted on Facebook<\/a>: “As much as my heart is breaking right now. We have now located Josh. But unfortunately he was not alive. We are now trying to get his body back to the UK.”<\/p>\n

Many people have replied expressing their sadness at the news. “So sorry Jen, thinking of you all right now. Been thinking of you all week, was praying he was safe. So sad, RIP Josh,” wrote one person. Another said: “Absolutely heart breaking Jen. Thinking of you, your beautiful girls and family! Sending you all so much love.”<\/p>\n

While a further comment read: “Absolutely devasted for you all what a gorgeous boy he was inside and out. You\u2019ve got this Jenny. you\u2019ve got all of us. Love you so much xxxx.”<\/p>\n

And Jade Kershaw also shared the sad news on a GoFundMe page<\/a> that had been set up in the search to find Joshua. She wrote: “Our beloved nephew, Joshua, who had been missing in Thailand, has sadly been found deceased in his hotel. This is not the outcome we were praying for, and our family is completely devastated by this loss.<\/p>\n

“We want to thank every single person who shared our page, donated, sent messages, and kept us in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time. Your kindness and support have meant more to us than we can ever express.”All funds raised will now go towards bringing Joshua home and covering funeral arrangements so he can be laid to rest at home, surrounded by his family and loved ones. Please continue to keep our family in your thoughts as we grieve and try to come to terms with this heartbreaking news.
