\n On Sunday, 18 January 2026, the community of Walsall gathered to honour the life and legacy of Dorothy Wyndlow Pattison, known as Sister Dora, at an annual service of thanksgiving.\n <\/p>\n
The Vicar of St Paul\u2019s and St Luke\u2019s, Reverend Canon Rob Hall and Reader Anita Edwards led the service at St Paul\u2019s at the Crossing, offering a moment to reflect on Sister Dora\u2019s selfless dedication to the people of Walsall.<\/p>\n
After the service, the Mayor of Walsall laid flowers at the foot of Sister Dora\u2019s statue. Joining the Mayor were retirees from the Walsall NHS Trust and representatives from Hauxwell Parish Church, Sister Dora\u2019s childhood church where her father once served as Vicar.<\/p>\n
Councillor Louise Harrison, Mayor of Walsall, said: “It was a profound honour to lead the town in remembering Sister Dora. Her selflessness indeed laid the foundations for the care and compassion we see in our town\u2019s health services today.<\/p>\n
“Through this annual service, we ensure that her devotion to the people of Walsall is never forgotten and continues to inspire future generations of caregivers.”<\/p>\n
