{"id":711306,"date":"2026-01-21T18:03:19","date_gmt":"2026-01-21T18:03:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/711306\/"},"modified":"2026-01-21T18:03:19","modified_gmt":"2026-01-21T18:03:19","slug":"historic-edinburgh-building-to-be-sold-in-multi-million-pound-deal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/711306\/","title":{"rendered":"Historic Edinburgh building to be sold in multi-million-pound deal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A HISTORIC Edinburgh landmark building is set to be sold, according to reports.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Waverley Gate, an A-listed Renaissance building, stands on the corner of North Bridge and holds the offices of several international companies.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A report by <a href=\"https:\/\/greenstreetnews.com\/article\/kennedy-wilson-lines-up-buyer-for-85m-edinburgh-office\/\" id=\"https:\/\/greenstreetnews.com\/article\/kennedy-wilson-lines-up-buyer-for-85m-edinburgh-office\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Green Street News<\/a> claims that Kennedy Wilson, a real estate company and the building\u2019s owners, are set to sell the property to California-based Melford Capital for \u00a385m.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It\u00a0states\u00a0that the sale would be\u00a0\u201cone of the biggest Scottish office deals in many years\u201d.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Kennedy Wilson\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.deadlinenews.co.uk\/tag\/waverley-gate\/\" id=\"38149\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">purchased\u00a0the property<\/a> in 2022 for \u00a378m.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It was reported: \u201cMelford Capital, which is building a reputation for\u00a0acquiring\u00a0larger lot size regional offices while there is a liquidity crunch, is in talks to purchase Waverley Gate from Kennedy Wilson.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA deal at around the \u00a385m mark would reflect a net yield of circa 7%.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.deadlinenews.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/HISTORIC_EDINBURGH_BUILDING_TO_BE_SOLD_IN_MULTI_MILLION_POUND_DEAL_DN01-e1769006785647.jpg?ssl=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" data-dominant-color=\"6f7679\" data-has-transparency=\"false\" style=\"--dominant-color: #6f7679;\" fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"696\" height=\"472\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/HISTORIC_EDINBURGH_BUILDING_TO_BE_SOLD_IN_MULTI_MILLION_POUND_DEAL_DN01.jpg\" alt=\"multi-storey building in city centre\" class=\"wp-image-1253975 not-transparent\"\/><\/a>The building was built in the 19th century.
