Jack P Shepherd has opened up about how his Celebrity Big Brother co-stars turned against him on the ITV<\/a> reality show. The Coronation Street<\/a> actor triumphed on the show as he took home the Big Brother crown, with Danny Beard as runner up.<\/a><\/p>\n

Hosts Will Best and AJ Odudu<\/a> returned to front the new series and welcomed a host of famous faces on to the show. Chesney Hawkes was the first celebrity to be revealed, followed by Trisha Goddard, JoJo Siwa, Chris Hughes and Patsy Palmer.<\/a><\/p>\n

Other celebrities who also lived in the house included politician Michael Fabricant, American actor Mickey Rourke, TOWIE star Ella Rae wise, Olympian Daley Thompson, comedian Donna Preston and former Martin Lewis Money show co-host, Angellica Bell.<\/p>\n

During the first week of the reality show, each celebrity attended the Diary Room one-by-one <\/a>to reveal who they wanted to eliminate. Jack received eight nominations from Angellica, Chesney, Danny, Donna, Ella, JoJo, Patsy and Trisha.<\/p>\n

The celebrities thought Jack was too observant and thought he came across as not very sociable. They all agreed he failed to check up on his housemates following the chaos earlier in the week. JoJo said: “Jack is just Jack. If you lose your water bottle, he’s not going to help you find it.”<\/p>\n

Despite getting off to a slow start in the Big Brother house, Jack P Shepherd won the hearts <\/a>of many fans as he went on to the win the show. He recently spoke about his journey on his podcast ‘On The Sofa’ which he co-hosts alongside Colson Smith and Ben Price, who play Craig Tinker and Nick Tyldesley on Coronation Street.<\/a><\/p>\n

He described his win as “mental” and something he never expected to happen. The 37-year-old actor also explained how “amazing” it felt to not use his phone for three weeks.<\/p>\n

He told listeners: “I didn’t have a strategy, I just went in there for a bit of a good time, a bit of a holiday. And I did enjoy it, I enjoyed every moment. I liked it from the production side of how the show was made.”<\/p>\n

When it came down to choosing a housemate to eliminate, Jack shared that he told his fellow celebrities that they could vote for him as an “easy” option.<\/p>\n

He explained: “I said to all the housemates ‘look it’s fine i’m not that bothered’. Everyone was terrified about upsetting people and I wasn’t that fussed really. I knew it was just a bit of fun and I wasn’t scared if I went out first.”<\/p>\n

Jack continued: “I kind of voiced that and because they couldn’t vote Mickey, I think they all went ‘well if we vote Jack at least he won’t be offended.’<\/p>\n

“So I think that was the narrative. It wasn’t because people hated me, but you look at the eight votes and you think ‘oh he must of done something bad’. There wasn’t anything, they knew I was a safe bet to vote for.”<\/p>\n

When Colson asked him how he felt when Big Brother read out his name <\/a>with the most votes, Jack said: “I was 100% expecting it and was like ‘yeah well obviously you’re going to vote for the person that’s not that bothered if they get voted for’.”<\/p>\n

Jack “expected” to be voted for all by his housemates through the whole series, but Coronation Street<\/a> fans came out in full force to vote for the actor in the public vote, leading him all the way to the final.<\/p>\n

He also expressed his frustration about the way the producers can “mess” with your routines. He said: “They massively mess with your sleeping patterns to make people edgy. Night one was a nightmare for me because I’d only slept for one hour the night before and they kept us awake until 5:30am.”<\/p>\n

His friend and co-star Colson Smith<\/a> also joined in with Jack’s anger. Colson, who plays Craig Tinker on the ITV<\/a> soap came third in last year’s series of Celebrity Big Brother as he lost out to David Potts and Strictly Come Dancing’s <\/a>Nikita Kuzmin.<\/p>\n

Jack said it was impossible to get an early night as he explained: “The shutters are down on the bedroom so you can’t even go in.
