A fire tore through a Liverpool chippy last week. Residents reported that there had been a fire in The New Loren Fish and Chips on Rice Lane in Walton<\/a> at around 5.30am on Friday, January 16.<\/p>\n

Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service<\/a> confirmed fire crews had attended the blaze in the early hours of January 16. Crews were alerted<\/a> at 5.37am and three fire engines<\/a> arrived at the scene<\/a> at 5.43am.<\/p>\n

Crews arrived to tackle the fire at the three-storey property, consisting of a shop on the ground floor with flats above. The ground floor was involved in fire.<\/p>\n

An angle grinder was used to cut away at a roller shutter, and two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the building to search the property and fight the fire using a hose reel jet.<\/p>\n

By 6am, the fire was extinguished and crews continued to dampen down the property. At 6.06am, it was declared that all persons were accounted for.<\/p>\n

Firefighters checked the above properties for smoke spread and completed a home fire safety check.<\/p>\n

Crews then continued to monitor temperatures before leaving the scene at 7.39am. An investigation determined the cause of fire to be accidental ignition due to an electrical event. Attempts have been made to contact the business about the fire.<\/p>\n
