The 1975<\/a> have announced a 10th anniversary vinyl reissue of \u2018I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it\u2019<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Mancunian rock quartet will reissue their second album that spawned major hits like \u2018Love Me\u2019, \u2018UGH!\u2019, \u2018Somebody Else\u2019 and \u2018The Sound\u2019. The 80s-inspired record also topped NME\u2018s Albums of the Year<\/a> list when it first dropped in 2016.<\/p>\n

The reissue will arrive February 27 via Dirty Hit (pre-order it here<\/a>), and will contain a limited-edition pink vinyl in a six panel triple gatefold package.<\/p>\n

It will also come with alternative artwork on its cover, along with\u00a017 12\u201d x 12\u201d art cards featuring lyrics from every song on the reverse.<\/p>\n

When\u00a0we crowned \u2018I like it when you sleep\u2026\u2019 as our top album of the year<\/a>, we wrote: \u201cAt 74 minutes long, with 17 tracks spanning everything from pop to post-rock and all points in between, the Manchester group\u2019s second album was a fascinating reflection of their frontman Matt Healy\u2019s outsized, often contrarian, personality: egomaniacal but introverted, populist but unapologetically pretentious, insecure but hungry for attention.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u201cThe world needs this album,\u201d Healy told NME, and the world\u2019s response to it \u2013 topping the charts on both sides of the Atlantic \u2013 proved him right,\u201d we concluded.<\/p>\n

Frontman Matty Healy spoke to\u00a0NME\u00a0about making the record, <\/a>where he told us that \u201cwe wanted it to feel very cinematic and it is almost the length of a film\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe got to the point where we were told it wouldn\u2019t fit on a CD if we carried on,\u201d he added. \u201cIt was just this really exciting creative bender, and the more ridiculous it got, the more subversive it got.<\/p>\n

He went on to proclaim: \u201cBut there\u2019s f**k all wrong with the album. Nothing. It\u2019s perfect for me. I could spend another two years on it and maybe make it three per cent better.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, The 1975 reportedly have two albums on the way.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

The records would serve as the follow-up to their critically-acclaimed \u2018Being Funny In A Foreign Language<\/a>\u2018, which dropped in 2022.<\/p>\n

The band apparently foreshadowed the name of one album at their huge Glastonbury headline set last year<\/a>, with the word \u2018DOGS\u2019 flashing very briefly at the end of their show.<\/p>\n

Healy went on to tell a fan that the band have made two albums, clarifying: \u201cWe made two. It might be one, it might be two\u2026 but yeah, we\u2019ve made two albums\u201d.<\/p>\n

Manager Jamie Oborne has also teased that The 1975\u2019s new record would be \u201cpretty extraordinary\u201d,<\/a> adding that he has a \u201cconstant discourse about it\u201d with the band.<\/p>\n

However, he cautioned that their next effort might not be released for a while, explaining: \u201cI think they\u2019ve earned the right to take their time. The world\u2019s gonna be listening, so it needs to be right.\u201d<\/p>\n
