A heated exchange between Hobart teammates Beau Webster, Matt Wade and Mitch Owen has been captured during the Sixers-Hurricanes final<\/a> with Webster delivering a brutal swipe towards Owen.<\/p>\n

At the end of the 14th over, one which Webster bowled, the all-rounder was visibly annoyed with Mitch Owen\u2019s position at cover.<\/p>\n

The on-field mic picked up Webster shouting at Owen, \u201chow many games have you played?\u201d before Hurricanes skipper Wade trotted down the wicket to see what Webster was upset about.<\/p>\n

\u201cDid you tell him to go?\u201d Webster asked Wade, referring to Owen. <\/p>\n

\u201cI saw you tell him to go. I didn\u2019t tell him to stay in,\u201d Wade responded.<\/p>\n

\u201cTempers flaring here \u2026 Not a good look,\u201d Adam Gilchrist said in commentary.<\/p>\n

Fox Cricket\u2019s Mark Howard broke down what he thought the argument was about, believing Webster became agitated when Owen stayed inside the circle instead of fielding deeper which resulted in a boundary from the penultimate ball of Webster\u2019s over.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s basically saying there\u2019s two balls to go, and he (Webster) told him (Owen) to go out to the deep cover fence rather than stay in the circle and Wadey said he didn\u2019t go (out) and as a result the boundary was given up the ball before which fired up the big man,\u201d Howard said.<\/p>\n

Gilchrist said that Webster had a right to want to move his fielders but he and Mark Waugh believed Webster should have handled it differently.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis point is a valid one in that everyone out there, you don\u2019t need a captain\u2019s armband on to be a captain. You can make decisions for yourself by thinking about the game and what the situation is. Mitch Owen probably should have been aware that with a couple of balls left in the over, I probably need to go back if that\u2019s the team\u2019s plan,\u201d Gilchrist said.<\/p>\n

\u201cProbably not the way to play it out in front of the opposition though.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not a great way to handle it. I\u2019m sure he\u2019ll (Webster) apologise,\u201d Waugh added.<\/p>\n

Webster and Owen were seen in good spirits walking off the ground at the end of the innings.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey were having a partly friendly chat but Beau does point out there was only two balls left so maybe keep an eye on things.
