{"id":717044,"date":"2026-01-24T07:11:10","date_gmt":"2026-01-24T07:11:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/717044\/"},"modified":"2026-01-24T07:11:10","modified_gmt":"2026-01-24T07:11:10","slug":"air-france-klm-pause-flights-to-middle-east-including-dubai-israel-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/717044\/","title":{"rendered":"Air France, KLM pause flights to Middle East, including Dubai, Israel | News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"article__subhead\">Air France and KLM announce pauses as Trump says \u2018armada\u2019 of US warships heading towards Middle East.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"avatar\" tabindex=\"-1\" aria-hidden=\"true\" href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/author\/al_jazeera_staff_150119130629458\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/1769238670_829_2017-06-08T131939Z_1189275883_RC11B0FE7F20_RTRMADP_3_GULF-QATAR-JAZEERA-1714943623.jpg\"   aria-hidden=\"true\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Published On 24 Jan 202624 Jan 2026<\/p>\n<p>Click here to share on social media<\/p>\n<p>share2<\/p>\n<p class=\"rich-share__social-text\">Share<\/p>\n<p>At least two European airlines have suspended flights to cities in the Middle East, with Air France saying it will temporarily stop service to Dubai as it continues to monitor the \u201cgeopolitical situation\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Dutch airline KLM also halted flights until further notice to cities in Israel, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia and would not fly through the airspace of several countries in the region, including Iraq and Iran, according to the Netherlands\u2019 state broadcaster NOS.<\/p>\n<p>Recommended Stories list of 4 itemsend of list<\/p>\n<p>France\u2019s national carrier Air France told the AFP news agency in a statement on Friday that it was making the changes \u201cdue to the current situation in the Middle East\u201d, adding that \u201cthe company has decided to temporarily suspend its service to Dubai\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAir France is monitoring the situation in real time and will provide further updates on its flight schedule,\u201d the French airline said.<\/p>\n<p>KLM told public broadcaster NOS on Friday that it had suspended flights until further notice to Tel Aviv, Dubai, Dammam and Riyadh and would not fly through the airspace of Iraq, Iran, Israel and several countries in the Gulf.<\/p>\n<p>The airline did not disclose the reason for the suspensions and said it was in touch with Dutch authorities, according to NOS.<\/p>\n<p>The latest flight disruptions come as United States President Donald Trump said on Thursday that a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2026\/1\/23\/trump-says-us-still-watching-iran-as-massive-fleet-heads-to-gulf-region\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cbig force\u201d<\/a> of US warships he described as an \u201carmada\u201d was heading towards the Gulf region, days after appearing to back away from threats of military action against Iran over a recent crackdown on antigovernment protests.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re watching Iran,\u201d Trump told reporters on Air Force One as he flew back from the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou know we have a lot of ships going that direction, just in case \u2026 We have a big force going toward Iran,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Air France and KLM announce pauses as Trump says \u2018armada\u2019 of US warships heading towards Middle East.
