New weather maps reveal a brutal snow heading towards the UK very soon. The maps generated by WXCharts using metdesk data have turned purple, indicating heavy snow<\/a> expected to build on February 8. UK households have already been experiencing harsh weather conditions over recent days, including snowfall, heavy rain, and strong winds, with the Met Office<\/a> issuing several yellow and amber warnings recently<\/a>.<\/p>\n

And according to WXCharts’ forecast, the UK appears to be on track for more plummeting temperatures and harsh conditions, with a new weather front coming from the east.<\/p>\n

According to the maps, snow is expected to cover the majority of northern England, stretching down to the Midlands and into Wales, with depths reaching up to 10 inches across the affected areas by 6pm.<\/p>\n

Where will the snow hit?<\/p>\n

Parts of the east and south east of England will also see snow, including Norfolk, Suffolk and Kent, while the likes of Southampton and Plymouth will escape it.<\/p>\n

Along with the snow, temperatures are expected to plummet to as low as -5C.<\/p>\n

Met Office forecast<\/p>\n

The Met Office<\/a> warns that the cold weather could bring more wintry hazards<\/a>. Its long-range weather forecast for February 8 to February 22 reads: “A similar theme is expected to continue as Atlantic frontal systems attempt to push eastwards at times.<\/p>\n

“As the jet stream is slightly further south than normal, the wettest conditions are more likely in central and southern areas. North and northwestern parts of the UK are most likely to be drier than normal.<\/p>\n

“Whilst mild incursions of wet and windy weather are favoured at times in the south and west, colder conditions in the north and northeast will bring an increased risk of wintry hazards, especially where any precipitation from the south west interacts with the cold air.”<\/p>\n

Weather over next few days<\/p>\n

In the meantime, Brits should be aware of the yellow weather warnings<\/a> currently in place across various regions, as forecasted heavy showers increase the risk of flooding.<\/p>\n
