Pop princess Heidi Range<\/a> is looking like a million dollars. The 42-year-old, who shares daughters Aurelia, eight, and Athena, four, with her husband, property developer Alex Partakis, was a member of iconic pop group Sugababes <\/a>through the 2000s.<\/p>\n

The bubbly Liverpudlian, who replaced original member Siobh\u00e1n Donaghy<\/a>, was part of the line-up when the girls racked up a whopping six UK number-one singles as well as two number-one studio albums.<\/p>\n

She may have waved goodbye to the iconic girlband since, but Heidi\u2019s remained a telly favourite, taking part in reality shows such as Dancing On Ice<\/a> and Celebrity MasterChef, as well as taking on roles in theatre shows Happy Days and The War of the Worlds.<\/p>\n

When we catch up with the star at London\u2019s Royal Albert Hall, attending the premiere of Cirque du Soleil<\/a>\u2019s new show Ovo \u2013 about a charming ladybug who captures the heart of a quirky new insect in a vibrant neighbourhood \u2013 she tells new life has been pretty hectic.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve finally come down from Christmas<\/a> \u2013 it was a total whirlwind!\u201d, the star laughs. \u201cThen it was straight into my eldest, Aurelia\u2019s birthday, so I was in full prep mode. I can\u2019t believe we have an eight-year-old in the house \u2013 it\u2019s so scary how fast they grow.\u201d<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a new year, and Heidi, who\u2019s been candid about her battles with her mental health in the early days of the band, says she has one goal that she\u2019s desperate to keep.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy resolution is to worry less, I\u2019m a big worrier! Honestly, my husband was skiing for four days recently, and I worried myself sick the whole time he was away. I\u2019m trying to chill out a bit, but it\u2019s\u2026 just who I am, I\u2019m afraid.\u201d<\/p>\n

Just before Christmas, Heidi marked a bit of a milestone, as she reveals she performed onstage for the first time in \u201cquite a while\u201d, having taken a break from showbiz when she had her daughters. But 2026, it seems, is her year of saying \u201cyes\u201d. \u201cWhen I had my girls, I completely stepped back \u2013 I was in full \u2018mummy zone,\u2019\u201d she explains.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy youngest started school in September, and I\u2019ve done a few concerts singing since then. I\u2019ve really enjoyed it, and this year I want to say yes to more opportunities.\u201d She adds, \u201cMotherhood makes it tricky to get back into your old life because you lose a bit of your identity. For me, my days were consumed by the kids and their needs.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou know, I didn\u2019t even realise I missed singing until I started rehearsing again. Performing made a little part of me come alive again \u2013 it sounds cheesy, but it\u2019s true.\u201d Asked if she\u2019d ever consider a full-blown return to pop music, perhaps even release her own music, Heidi is unsure \u2013 but tells us she\u2019s definitely got the performing bug back.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t really think I\u2019d be into releasing music right now, but I definitely want to perform more. The concerts I\u2019ve done were for NSPCC<\/a> and Childline \u2013 I\u2019m one of their campaigners, so it felt amazing to perform for a good cause and enjoy it again.\u201d And does she keep in touch with anyone from her pop days?<\/p>\n

\u201cNot really, just the odd Instagram<\/a> message. Within our band, yes, but mostly no. Events like this, though, you always bump into someone you know!\u201d Heidi appeared in the powerful three-part BBC<\/a> documentary, Girlbands Forever <\/a>last November, which unearthed some funny, juicy and also heartbreaking tales from the biggest turn-of-the-millennium girlbands.<\/p>\n

Speaking openly about the realities behind the glamour, Heidi tells us she loved sharing the highs and lows of being in one of Britain\u2019s most successful girl groups. \u201cYeah, I really enjoyed it,\u201d she says. \u201cThey approached me to get involved, and the first thing I did was watch the boyband episode they\u2019d done \u2013 it was so\u2026 tasteful. And this documentary felt like a celebration of girlbands. I loved that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Post pop, of course, Heidi got her fair share of reality TV experience, with 2012\u2019s Dancing On Ice stint \u2013 but she has yet to do Strictly Come Dancing<\/a>. Would she be up for getting her fake tan and sparkles on, one day, if she were asked? \u201cAbsolutely, yes! That\u2019s on my wish list. I love Strictly. I cry every year, even at the opening credits. I\u2019d love to learn to dance like that and watch the pros. I\u2019d desperately love to do it.\u201d<\/p>\n

The other BBC juggernaut, The Traitors<\/a>, isn\u2019t one she\u2019s caught up on, she confesses \u2013 as life\u2019s just been way too crazy, lately. \u201cI caught a few episodes of the celebrity series, but December was so mental I barely watched TV, apart from the odd Christmas movie.<\/p>\n

“I\u2019ve just started The Night Manager \u2013 we\u2019re on series one \u2013 and yes, I love Tom Hiddleston!\u201d<\/a> Before we part ways, new comments on how glowing and ageless Heidi is looking. \u201cMake-up and Botox help a lot, you know!\u201d she laughs.<\/p>\n
