Oldham<\/a> Road in the city centre, Octavius, said it has implemented \u2018extra training about proper conduct\u2019.<\/p>\nOctavius also confirmed the an ‘element’ of the roadworks \u2018will be completed later than originally anticipated\u2019, expected to be July this year. One neighbour said the scheme, which started in February, was scheduled to finish last Sunday (April 27).<\/p>\n

The same resident hit out at workmen\u2019s \u2018poor behaviour\u2019.<\/p>\n
\u201cA guy pulled his pants down and started p***ing at 8:30am one morning,\u201d said Chrissie Keener, who\u2019s lived on the road for 11 years. \u201cHe was p***ing in one of the holes being dug.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ms Keener, who works in media, also said she witnessed staff \u2018eyeing up\u2019 a passerby.<\/p>\n
She said: \u201cIt was nothing overly aggressive. There was a woman jogging and they were eyeing her up and looking at each other. They have been whistling too. It\u2019s poor behaviour.<\/p>\n
\u201cI would not care if they got it done but they keep extending it.\u201d<\/p>\n
She also told the Local Democracy Reporting Service work has been slow: \u201cThey have just started putting a pathway in.<\/p>\n
\u201cI do not know why a cycle lane is a mammoth project. Literally a 10 storey building has gone up faster next to it.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am not a builder but looking out you can see they have kept digging holes and refilling them. Most of the time there\u2019s no one working there.\u201d<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for Octavius said there had been a \u2018hiatus\u2019 on work due to \u2018delays in obtaining some essential materials\u2019.<\/p>\n
In a statement, they said \u2018extra training\u2019 has been implemented around \u2018conduct\u2019: \u201cWe take the resident\u2019s views seriously and quickly arranged an in-person meeting with the project liaison officer to understand them better.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe cycleway project is running to schedule. The work in front of the resident\u2019s house has started, but a delay in obtaining some essential materials \u2013 granite street furniture \u2013 is why the resident has observed a hiatus and why this specific element of the project will be completed later than originally anticipated.<\/p>\n
\u201cProject leaders have raised the resident\u2019s concerns about some conduct with the site team. It has been made clear that inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated, in addition the team have all received extra training about proper conduct on site.\u201d<\/p>\n
