Fire crews have been scrambled to a house fire in Ashton-under-Lyne.<\/p>\n

Crews were called at around 8.15pm on Saturday, May 3, following reports a large fire had broken out at a semi-detached home on Sheard Avenue.<\/p>\n

Residents reported hearing a large bang moments before three fire engines arrived at the scene.<\/p>\n

Smallshaw Lane has been cordoned off as firefighters tend to the blaze.<\/p>\n

In a video shared with the Manchester Evening News, smoke was seen billowing out of the property as concerned neighbours watched on.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: <\/strong>\u201cAt just after 8.15pm on Saturday (May 3) three fire engines from Ashton<\/a>, Stalybridge<\/a> and Mossley fire stations were called to a fire at a semi-detached home on Sheard Avenue, Ashton-under-Lyne.<\/p>\n

\u201cFirefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hose reels to extinguish the fire.
