ScotRail has suspended a busy Glasgow <\/a>line after a person was reportedly hit by a train. The incident is understood to have taken place around 6pm between Pollokshields East and Mount Florida stations on Tuesday, January 27.<\/p>\n Emergency services are dealing with the ongoing incident while passengers <\/a>face travel chaos after the popular route was suspended.<\/p>\n Trains between Glasgow Central <\/a>and Neilston, as well as Newton in Lanark, have been cancelled \u2013 with disruption expected to drag on until around 8.30pm.<\/p>\n The 6.35pm and 6.56pm services from Glasgow Central to Neilston have both been cancelled. The 6.22pm service to Newton Lanark did not call at Pollokshields East, Queens Park Strathclyde, Crosshill and Mount Florida.<\/p>\n A ScotRail alert said: “Because of a person being hit by a train between Pollokshields East and Mount Florida all lines are closed. Disruption is expected to last until around 20:30 today.<\/p>\n “Train services between Glasgow Central and Glasgow Central via Queens Park<\/a>, Strathclyde will be cancelled or delayed.”<\/p>\n The alert added: “We are working closely with emergency services during this time and will keep you updated.”<\/p>\n Eight out of 36 routes have been affected as a result. The transport service also issued an update on X<\/a>, previously Twitter, informing prospective commuters of what will be in store for them when setting off tonight.<\/p>\n The post read: “The emergency services are handling an incident between Pollokshields East and Mount Florida which means that services passing through these stations will be altered.<\/p>\n “We are working closely with the emergency services during this time. Please use our app for service updates.”<\/p>\n
