{"id":725343,"date":"2026-01-28T01:35:12","date_gmt":"2026-01-28T01:35:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/725343\/"},"modified":"2026-01-28T01:35:12","modified_gmt":"2026-01-28T01:35:12","slug":"ubisoft-increases-just-dance-subscription-prices-in-the-wake-of-restructuring-cuts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/725343\/","title":{"rendered":"Ubisoft Increases &#8216;Just Dance&#8217; Subscription Prices In The Wake Of Restructuring &#038; Cuts"},"content":{"rendered":"<\/p>\n<p>Just a week after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/news\/2026\/01\/ubisoft-cancels-6-games-in-major-organisation-restructure\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ubisoft announced<\/a> it was making a huge amount of cuts and cancellations in order to aid efficiency and corporate restructuring, the French studio has confirmed it will be increasing the price of <strong>Just Dance+<\/strong> subscriptions from <strong>April 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The streaming service, which launched back in November 2022, can be used in-game from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/games\/switch-eshop\/just_dance_2023_edition\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Just Dance 2023 Edition<\/a> onward, and gives you access to even more songs from the series&#8217; back-catalogue.<\/p>\n<p>But that&#8217;ll come at a steeper cost from, with monthly prices rising by <strong>$1<\/strong> a month, 3-month passes going up <strong>$3<\/strong>, and a year&#8217;s pass costing an extra <strong>$5<\/strong>. Here&#8217;s a rundown of the before and after:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 Month Pass: $<strong>4.99<\/strong> <strong>\/ 4,99\u20ac<\/strong> (previously $3.99 \/ 3,99\u20ac)<\/li>\n<li>3 Month Pass: $<strong>12.99<\/strong> <strong>\/ 12,99\u20ac<\/strong> (previously $9.99 \/ 9,99\u20ac)<\/li>\n<li>12 Month Pass: $<strong>29.99<\/strong> <strong>\/ 29,99\u20ac<\/strong> (previously $24.99 \/ 24,99\u20ac)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Sure, new content is coming in the form of more songs, some of which are available from today, including &#8216;Walking on Sunshine&#8217; by Katrina &amp; The Waves, &#8216;Toxic&#8217; by Britney Spears, and &#8216;Dynamite&#8217; by BTS. A second batch lands on 10th February 2026.<\/p>\n<p>But the timing isn&#8217;t great timing, especially in the aftermath <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/news\/2026\/01\/ubisoft-cancels-6-games-in-major-organisation-restructure\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">of last week&#8217;s news<\/a>, which saw six games \u2014 including the long-in-development <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/news\/2026\/01\/prince-of-persia-team-behind-cancelled-sands-of-time-remake-shares-final-message\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake<\/a> \u2014 get cancelled, studios get closed down, and restructuring at various offices. All in aid of a live-service push, specialisations, and investments in generative AI.<\/p>\n<p>Since then, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendolife.com\/news\/2026\/01\/surprise-rayman-30th-anniversary-edition-has-been-rated\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rayman 30th Anniversary rating has appeared<\/a> (which is potentially being handled by Atari), but it doesn&#8217;t look rosy. According to <a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ign.com\/articles\/ubisoft-follows-last-weeks-game-cancelations-and-studio-closures-with-a-proposed-reduction-of-200-more-jobs-at-its-paris-headquarters\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">IGN<\/a>, the Paris headquarters are looking at a cost-reduction initiative, including a voluntary redundancy process, with French union Solidaires Informatique reportedly planning more action following a call to strike last week (via <a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gamesindustry.biz\/anger-and-despair-reigning-supreme-at-ubisoft-following-restructuring-plan-says-union\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">GamesIndustry.biz<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>Are you a Just Dance+ subscriber?
