Adidas paid tribute to two Manchester icons with the new collection featuring jerseys, sneakers, and scarves<\/p>\n

\n\tManchester is as famous for football as it is for being birthplace of legendary bands, and Adidas<\/a> is bringing the two together with its latest drop: a collaboration between the Stone Roses<\/a> and Manchester United. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe collection includes jackets, jerseys, and sneakers, and prices range from $45 for the scarf to $120 for the jerseys and shoes. The pieces feature the splatter-paint motif from the Stone Roses\u2019 eponymous debut album, in addition to the football club\u2019s crest. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe connection between the Stone Roses and United runs deep, as \u201cThis Is The One\u201d has long served as the team\u2019s walk-on song at Old Trafford. The team also recently paid tribute to Stone Roses\u2019 late bassist Gary Mounfield<\/a>, better known as Mani, with jackets featuring \u201cMani 1962-2025\u201d ahead of Sunday\u2019s road win against Arsenal. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe Stone Roses were founded in 1983, and comprised Ian Brown, John Squire<\/a>, Mani, and Alan \u201cReni\u201d Wren. The band only released two albums, their self-titled debut and 1994\u2019s Second Coming, but they were a hugely influential force in the \u201cMadchester\u201d scene, which also included acts like James and the Happy Mondays. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe scene\u2019s influence led to the later success of bands like Oasis<\/a>, who also got soccer-inspired jerseys<\/a> from Adidas ahead of the band\u2019s reunion tour that kicked off last year. The Stone Roses last performed together in 2017 and officially broke up for a second time in 2019.<\/p>\n
