A cyclist was robbed by men with a knife in Kirkby<\/a> this evening, Wednesday, January 28. Merseyside Police received a call just before 7pm reporting the male victim was cycling along Mill Lane when he was approached by two unknown men on a Sur-ron motorbike.<\/p>\n The men asked the cyclist who the bicycle belonged to. A Merseyside Police spokesman said: “They then moved towards him, and as they did so he threw the bike to the ground and ran away towards Hill Park Crescent in fear.<\/p>\n “The two males caught up with him carrying a knife and struck the victim several times, during which he fell to the ground and his watch was stolen.”<\/p>\n The victim, a man in his 30s, sustained a cut lip which required medical treatment. CCTV and witness enquiries are being carried out, and anyone with any information is asked to contact police.<\/p>\n Inspector Daniel Greenhalgh said: \u201cThis was a terrifying experience for the victim who sustained injuries as a result.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are in the early stages of the investigation and are conducting a number of lines of enquiries to find the two offenders.<\/p>\n \u201cI would urge anyone who has information which will assist the investigation to contact us so we can bring them to justice.\u201d<\/p>\n Anyone with CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage or information or who witnessed the robbery is asked to contact Merseyside Police social media desk via X @MerPolCC or on Facebook<\/a> \u2018Merseyside Police Contact Centre\u2019 with reference 26000077151.<\/p>\n
