The Rams are keen to bolster their squad ahead of the transfer window closing next week and that could lead them to make a move for an Owls midfielder\"Junior<\/p>\n

Derby County have reportedly joined the list of admirers for Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Svante Ingelsson.<\/p>\n

According to the Sheffield Star<\/a>, the Owls have rejected a second bid for the Swede which is believed to have come from Millwall for a fee of around \u00a3300,000.<\/p>\n

Former Derby<\/a> loanee Barry Bannan today left the troubled Wednesday for the Lions, who are chasing promotion under Alex Neil and further departures cannot be ruled out at Hillsborough with the club in administration.<\/p>\n

Ingelsson is said to have attracted plenty of interest, given Wednesday’s plight, with Portsmouth also reported to be keen on the Swede.<\/p>\n

Derby are looking to bolster their squad ahead of the window before the close of play next week and a central midfielder cannot be ruled out, while the Rams are also seeking to add to their creativity in attack.<\/p>\n

With Lewis Travis and David Ozoh back fit, Derby’s current options in reserve are academy graduate Liam Thompson and Oscar Fraulo who arrived earlier this month from Borussia Monchengladbach.<\/p>\n

Ingelsson is described as a box-to-box midfielder who can play anywhere in the centre of the pitch, having played as a number eight, a six and also as a makeshift centre forward given his imposing stature.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately for Wednesday, the January window has been tough for them so far with youngster Yisa Alao having moved to Premier League giants Chelsea and Bannan departing for the capital.<\/p>\n

With the club still yet to have been taken over and the prospect of the administration process continuing, Wednesday will have to consider raising funds with the transfers of players being an obvious option.<\/p>\n

Further bids are expected for Ingelsson before the window shuts, but as of yet, no club has been able to match his valuation with the Swede effectively under contract until 2027 due an option in his contract that allows Wednesday to extend his deal by another 12 months.<\/p>\n
