style=\"width:826px;height:auto\"\/>Danny Quinn, managing director of DataVita<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Lanarkshire has been named as the location for Scotland\u2019s AI Growth Zone, designed to accelerate the development of AI-enabled data centres by streamlining planning processes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">AI Growth zones aim to attract billions in investment and create thousands of jobs, and reduce operational costs for developers to boost national computing capacity and infrastructure.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Business Minister Richard Lochhead said:\u00a0\u201cThis announcement is a welcome endorsement of\u00a0Scotland\u2019s\u00a0existing\u00a0strengths and\u00a0future\u00a0potential in this transformative sector.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u201cThe Lanarkshire Growth Zone will unlock new opportunities for businesses, researchers and communities, support high-quality jobs, boost productivity and help Scotland play a leading role in the responsible development and deployment of AI.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u201cScotland\u2019s abundant renewable energy, strong digital infrastructure and sustained public investment make it an ideal location for large scale, green computing projects. <\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u201cCoupled with globally recognised excellence in research,\u00a0innovation\u00a0and technological ingenuity,\u00a0this has already helped attract a \u00a31.5 billion investment in Scotland\u2019s AI infrastructure by DataVita and\u00a0CoreWeave.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">He said the Scottish Government and enterprise agencies\u00a0worked closely with prospective Scottish sites throughout the Growth Zone bidding process.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u201cWe look forward to supporting the UK Government, DataVita and partners in making the Lanarkshire Growth Zone a success and ensuring it delivers a lasting benefit for Scotland\u2019s economy and society,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The coming weeks will see the launch of AI Scotland\u202f, a national transformation programme built on collaboration between business, academia,\u00a0government\u00a0and agencies.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Other AI Growth Zones
