While demand for dining out\u00a0remains\u00a0resilient, operators are balancing rising cost pressures, shifting consumer expectations, and the need for innovation in digital ordering,\u00a0pricing\u00a0and operational efficiency. The sector is forecast to\u00a0maintain\u00a0strong long-term momentum but requires coordinated strategic and operational support to realise this growth sustainably.<\/p>\n<p>Robert, who joined EY in 2007,\u00a0brings more than 20 years\u2019 experience advising leading consumer,\u00a0leisure\u00a0and retail businesses, as well as investors in the sector. He has worked with management teams on strategy,\u00a0growth\u00a0and M&amp;A, helping them respond to changing consumer behaviour, competitive\u00a0dynamics\u00a0and technological disruption. His experience spans the full spectrum of foodservice \u2014 from fine dining and casual dining to\u00a0quick service restaurants (QSR), coffee\u00a0shops\u00a0and major industry suppliers.<\/p>\n<p>In his new role,\u00a0Robert will coordinate capabilities\u00a0from\u00a0across the firm, working closely with sector\u00a0and functional\u00a0leaders including\u00a0Trevellyan\u00a0Collier (Consulting), Andrew Taylor (Tax) and Chris\u00a0Solomides\u00a0(Assurance) to bring integrated support to clients\u00a0across a breadth of key topics for the sector.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ey.com\/en_uk\/people\/michael-thompson\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Michael Thompson<\/a>, EY Global\u00a0Deputy\u00a0and UK&amp;I Managing Partner, Consumer and Health Industries, said:\u00a0\u201cI am delighted that Robert is taking on this leadership role.
