But, are they worth the eye-watering flavor?<\/p>\n<p>Experts say ginger shots can aid digestion and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/life-style\/health-and-families\/kimchi-benefits-gut-health-best-immune-system-b2878867.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">benefit immune health<\/a>, as well as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/life-style\/health-and-families\/glucose-research-london-school-of-hygiene-and-tropical-medicine-symptoms-aim-b2390878.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">lower blood sugar levels<\/a> and fight disease-causing inflammation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGinger has some apparent health benefits,\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.novanthealth.org\/healthy-headlines\/ginger-shots-health-or-hype\">Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center registered dietitian Alice Smith said in a statement<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cResearch has shown it may help fight inflammation, boost immunity and deliver digestive support.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/iStock-1406177848.jpeg\"  loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"Ginger shots have long been used in the U.S., boasting multiple health benefits. (Getty Images\/iStock)<\/p>\n<p>Immune boost<\/p>\n<p>Ginger has been used in traditional Chinese or Ayurvedic medicine for thousands of years. <\/p>\n<p>Perhaps its most well-known health benefit is its immune-boosting properties. <\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s because <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.urmc.rochester.edu\/encyclopedia\/content?contenttypeid=76&amp;contentid=02021-2\">ginger contains vitamins C, B6 and A<\/a>, which all protect our immune health. <\/p>\n<p>Although, there isn\u2019t really that much in a teaspoon &#8211; often the amount included in a shot.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s why some ginger shots include lemon or orange juice to boost the amount of vitamin C you consume.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cConsuming these nutrients together can help to boost your intake of immune-fighting foods,\u201d registered dietitian Candace O\u2019Neill <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/health.clevelandclinic.org\/ginger-shot-benefits\">told the Cleveland Clinic<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Bloat-busting<\/p>\n<p>The fresh ginger in the shots is actually better for you than a glass of ginger ale when it comes to battling bloating. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are certain enzymes in ginger that can help with bloating, help ease constipation and help with nausea,\u201d said O\u2019Neill. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you\u2019re dealing with IBS symptoms, this may help to reduce some of your symptoms,\u201d they added.<\/p>\n<p>Ginger can also soothe morning sickness and even cancer-induced nausea and vomiting, according to the clinic.<\/p>\n<p>Spicy relief<\/p>\n<p>Ginger has properties that help fight harmful inflammation.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Ginger has been found to lower levels of C-reactive protein, which causes inflammation,\u201d registered dietitian Elouise Rice said in a <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/patient.info\/features\/diet-and-nutrition\/health-boosting-ginger-shots-fad-or-fact\">statement<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>And, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC7754412\/\">studies<\/a> also show that ginger helps with long-term pain relief due to <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/health.clevelandclinic.org\/ginger-health-benefits\">its potent natural oil called gingerol<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cResearch shows that gingerol reduces the activity and synthesis of pro-inflammatory compounds, which are associated with pain,\u201d said O\u2019Neill.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/iStock-1155497940.jpeg\"  loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"A ginger shot provides multiple vitamins that boost immune health and fight inflammation\" class=\"sc-1mc30lb-0 ggpMaE inline-gallery-btn\"\/><\/p>\n<p>open image in gallery<\/p>\n<p>A ginger shot provides multiple vitamins that boost immune health and fight inflammation (Getty Images\/iStock)<\/p>\n<p>Blood sugar and cholesterol levels<\/p>\n<p>Ginger may play a role in regulating insulin production, which can help keep blood sugar levels stable, according to O\u2019Neill.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is some evidence that it may improve insulin sensitivity and it may reduce some enzymes in the body that break down carbohydrates and increases glucose metabolism,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>One small <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC4277626\/\">study<\/a> showed that taking just two grams of powdered ginger supplements a day lowered blood sugar in people with type 2 diabetes, according to <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.uclahealth.org\/news\/article\/why-you-should-consider-adding-ginger-to-your-diet\">UCLA Health<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>There has also been <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/18813412\/\">research<\/a> finding that people who took ginger pills each day law lower levels of bad cholesterol after 45 days, but more studies are needed.<\/p>\n<p>What about weight loss?
