Residents at Middleton Park Lodge Nursing Home were \u2018all shook up\u2019 last week as the home hosted a lively Elvis-themed party to celebrate the King of Rock \u2019n\u2019 Roll.<\/p>\n

The event marked what would have been Elvis Presley\u2019s 91st birthday and brought together residents, family members, and friends for an afternoon of singing, dancing and good old-fashioned rock n roll.<\/p>\n

Popular Elvis tribute entertainer \u2018Memphis Pete\u2019 performed a set of classic hits, including \u2018Burning Love\u2019, \u2018Jailhouse Rock\u2019, and \u2018All Shook Up.<\/p>\n

Residents joined colleagues on the dance floor, while others tapped their feet, clapped along, or waved their arms from their seats.<\/p>\n

A particularly heart-warming moment came when Maureen, who lives at the home, recognised Memphis Pete from years ago, recalling he used to sing at a pub she frequented in Hunslet. The pair shared memories and posed for photographs, creating a special connection during the event. She said:<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was fantastic to see Elvis come alive again! I even recognised Memphis Pete from years ago, and it brought back so many happy memories. I couldn\u2019t stop singing along!\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Paula, Activities Coordinator at Middleton Park Lodge, added:<\/p>\n

\u201cEvents like this are incredibly important for our residents\u2019 wellbeing. Music unlocks memories and sparks conversation, and we saw that so clearly. Residents reminisced about dances, shared stories, and enjoyed the moment together.
