It has been a tough start to the year, with the Met Office issuing a series of weather warnings throughout January.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\"><a aria-label=\"Storm Chandra became the sixth named storm to hit the UKLink opens in a new tab.\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyrecord.co.uk\/news\/scottish-news\/storm-chandra-batter-scotland-wind-36614853\" rel=\"follow nofollow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"_blank\">Storm Chandra became the sixth named storm to hit the UK<\/a> this season when it arrived on our shores earlier this week. Its impact has waned as the week has gone on, with only two Met Office alerts in place in the UK.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">But it seems we are not out of the woods yet as a huge <a aria-label=\"weatherfrontLink opens in a new tab.\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyrecord.co.uk\/all-about\/weather\" rel=\"follow nofollow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"_blank\">weatherfront<\/a> developing over the North Sea could be set to blanket Scotland next month. This &#8216;Beast from the East&#8217;-type storm threatens to bring up to 69cm of snow to parts of Scotland in February.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Weather maps from WX Charts, which uses Met Desk data, show a monster snowstorm stretching from Denmark and Norway in the east across the North Sea and hitting Scotland on the morning of Tuesday, February 10.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">As the day goes on, more of the white stuff will hit our shores with the snow moving westward across the country. By the morning of Wednesday, February 11, heavy snow showers are forecast for the majority of Scotland&#8217;s east coast, as well as throughout central areas and the North East.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">The <a aria-label=\"CairngormsLink opens in a new tab.\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyrecord.co.uk\/all-about\/cairngorms\" rel=\"follow nofollow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"_blank\">Cairngorms<\/a> National Park appears to be the epicentre, with the &#8216;Beast from the East&#8217; snowfall adding to the accumulations brought during late January.
