A woman was taken to hospital after being attacked by masked men who smashed up a house in Co Antrim.<\/p>\n
It happened in Ballymoney on Friday night.<\/p>\n
Children were present when the attack happened.<\/p>\n
Police said it was a \u201cvery distressing incident\u201d.<\/p>\n
Officers were called at 9.15pm after two masked men, armed with weapons, were reported to have attacked the property in the Carnany Park area.<\/p>\n
It was reported the woman had been assaulted.<\/p>\n
Inspector Dalzell added: \u201cOfficers attended the scene, along with colleagues from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service, who took the woman on to hospital for treatment to her injuries.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere were a number of people in the property at the time of the attack, including another woman and a man, along with a number of children.<\/p>\n
\u201cA significant amount of damage was caused to the interior of the house, with numerous items smashed before the men made off.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe believe the suspects turned right after leaving the house and then ran down an alleyway beside the next-door property.<\/p>\n
“This was a very distressing incident for all concerned, particularly given the fact there were a number of children in the house while all of this was going on.<\/p>\n
