The Montre\u00e1l-based artist’s fourth record, released in May 2024, featured contributions from James K, Ben Bondy, Adam Feingold and more. <\/p>\n Ciel’s “Bamboo” was named Underground Dance Single Of The Year. The song was first released as the opening track on Ciel’s 2023 album Homesick<\/a>\u2014according to the Toronto-based artist and Parallel Minds<\/a> boss, she wrote “Bamboo” in 2021 after attending a “very inspiring” Invisible City party at Blkspace, using a breakbeat she heard on the same night. <\/p>\n Finally, Manchester DJ and Interplanetary Criminal<\/a>‘s collaboration with Toronto artist SadBoi, “No Time,” took home the award for Dance Recording Of The Year. The track, which dropped on January 1st last year, marked the duo’s first release together. In an Instagram post upon its release, Interplanetary Criminal said he drew inspiration from a New Year’s Eve spent at The White Hotel<\/a>, sharing: “I was so inspired by the driving kicks and fun, sassy melodies surrounding them, blew my mind\u2014everything fell into place the day after, unreal.”<\/p>\n
