The Dubai Desert Classic wrapped up on Sunday, with Patrick Reed securing glory by four strokes. The American golfer<\/a> shot a level-par 72 in his final round to secure a comfortable margin.<\/p>\n He would finish the tournament at 14 under par, in what was his first-ever Rolex series win on the DP World Tour. As well as the Dallah Trophy, Reed bagged a sweet \u00a31.18m for his efforts. <\/a>He became only the fifth American to secure the trophy, joining the likes of Tiger Woods and Bryson DeChambeau.<\/p>\n Northern Irish golf legend Rory McIlroy<\/a> recorded his worst result in the competition since 2008, finishing tied-33rd. The world-renowned sportsman will still be taking home \u00a348,043.<\/p>\n Nine players were tied at 33rd, so the prize money was pooled and divided equally between those in that bracket. Emirates Golf Club had attracted a whole host of the world’s most famous stars, including Tommy Fleetwood, Dustin Johnson, Shane Lowry as well as McIlroy. Lowry also struggled and finished in 26th place.<\/p>\n Reed gets honest about LIV deal<\/p>\n As previously mentioned, winner Reed bagged just over \u00a31m for his showing and even spoke about his LIV Golf deal after the win, offering a peek behind the curtain of negotiations as he confirmed his contract had expired.<\/p>\n “We\u2019re still finalising the contract,” Reed said. “We\u2019re not complete on that yet.
