Northern Gas Networks (NGN) is to carry out essential work in Farnley and Wortley, to replace the ageing metal pipework with new, more durable plastic pipes.<\/p>\n
This work will ensure the continued safe and reliable supply of gas to customers in Leeds, keeping homes and businesses safe, warm and connected.<\/p>\n
The project, which is expected to last until around the end of May, has been planned in collaboration with Leeds City Council. So that engineers can carry out the work safely and efficiently, and to protect the public, some traffic management measures will be put in place.<\/p>\n
From Tuesday 10 February there will be a road closure on Whincover Drive, Farnley, at the junction of Whincover Close. Access will be maintained to Whincover Close via Ring Road Low Wortley. This will be in place for approximately three weeks.<\/p>\n
From Tuesday 24 February there will be a lane closure on Ring Road Lower Wortley between 9.30am to 3.30pm, starting near the junction of Whincover Drive heading towards Stonebridge Lane. This will be in place for approximately 11 weeks.<\/p>\n
From Thursday 2 April there will be another lane closure on Ring Road Lower Wortley for traffic travelling in the opposite direction. This will be in place for approximately three weeks.<\/p>\n
