Manchester United defender Harry Amass <\/a>has suffered an injury on the training ground for Norwich City and he’s facing a lengthy spell on the side-lines. The 18-year-old joined the Championship<\/a> side on loan for the remainder of the season this week.<\/p>\n

He featured for just 15 minutes as a substitute in Norwich’s<\/a> win against Coventry on Monday, but went on to miss Saturday’s defeat to Middlesbrough. Manager Philippe Clement didn’t reveal the severity of the injury, only noting that the club will work with United on his rehabilitation and recovery.<\/p>\n

Clement told BBC Radio Norfolk: “Harry, in the dying seconds of training, got an injury. I didn’t want to speak too much about it straight after training because there was no assessment yet about it.<\/p>\n

“But it looks to be serious and he will be out for a long time. He’s on loan from Man Utd – so it’s also important to speak with them first before speaking to the outside world.”<\/p>\n

It remains unclear how many months the youngster will be out – despite Clement stating it could be long-term – with further assessments needed to determine the full extent of the injury.<\/p>\n

However, the Canaries boss ruled out signing another left-back in this transfer window.<\/p>\n

“No, we’re not going to take in another left full-back,” Clement added.<\/p>\n

“So, we will solve it with the squad that’s here because we already have four left full-backs on the pay roll.”<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, it appears the defender’s time at Carrow Road may now be short\u2011lived – despite him expressing excitement about joining the team. After his switch was confirmed, Amass<\/a> said: “I’ve spoken with Ben [Knapper, Norwich sporting director] and the gaffer.<\/p>\n

“They’ve both told me that they’ve been watching me since Sheffield Wednesday and a bit before that, and they have liked what they’ve seen.<\/p>\n

“They like the way that I carry the ball, the way that I am on the ball, the hard work that I show.<\/p>\n

“They spoke to me and said they see that I can do good things here, they believe that it’ll be a benefit for the club and for me, so it should be good both ways.”<\/p>\n
