Chris Davies has confirmed Tomoki Iwata suffered a hip injury in Birmingham City’s <\/a>2-0 win at Oxford United.<\/a><\/p>\n The former Celtic man, who has seamlessly adapted from central midfield to right back, was withdrawn 65 minutes into the game at the Kassam Stadium.<\/a><\/p>\n He was replaced by Bright Osayi-Samuel who made his first Blues appearance since December 9, having been away at the Africa Cup of Nations for a month.<\/p>\n Until he went off Iwata had played every minute of the last 11 Championship matches but Blues must now assess his fitness.<\/p>\n Speaking after the match Davies said: \u201cTomoki<\/a> has got quite a nasty bang on to his bone in the hip – it has spasmed up a little bit. I would be hopeful that\u2019s not a long-term problem but we will have to see tomorrow.\u201d<\/p>\n Osayi-Samuel is the obvious replacement if Iwata is unable to recover in time for next weekend\u2019s home clash with Leicester City.
