First look inside One Port Street – Northern Quarter’s ‘Beetham Tower'(Image: One Port Street)<\/p>\n

Manchester is home to a number of distinctive skyscrapers that have shaped the city\u2019s skyline. Whilst the 67-storey South Tower at Deansgate Square is the city’s tallest residential building, most people recognise Beetham Tower as Manchester’s most iconic skyscraper.<\/p>\n

While most of the major towers are in or near Deansgate, the Northern Quarter <\/a>now has its very own skyscraper in the name of One Port Street. The 100 metre, 32-storey high structure is now the tallest landmark in the trendy neighbourhood, which architect Ian Simpson previously said<\/a> “will become as synonymous with the Northern Quarter as Beetham Tower has become for Deansgate.”<\/p>\n

Introducing a ‘new standard of premium living’ to the area, the flagship scheme brings a boutique five-star hotel feel with its underground swimming pool, rooftop terrace, top-tier gym and 477 swanky apartments, which developer Select Property says offer the “most considered luxury apartment experience in Manchester.”<\/p>\n

The entrance to a building often sets the tone for the quality, style, and atmosphere you can expect throughout. Walking into One Port Street felt like I was arriving to check into a high-end hotel. The stunning lobby is centered around a 360-degree firepit, creating a relaxed yet opulent space.<\/p>\n

Surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows that flood the area with light, the entrance features a 24\/7 concierge desk, a tea and coffee bar, and plenty of co-working and seating areas from sleek stools and booths to curved sofas and stylish armchairs. The hidden \u2018Hideout\u2019 room, accessed behind a secret door, also provides a ‘speakeasy style’ room for residents to relax in.<\/p>\n

I visited the development during the building phase and had high expectations after seeing the plans for the unrivalled amenities – and they didn’t disappoint. First I was taken down to the 2,000 square foot underground swimming pool and spa pool, and it looked exactly how I had envisioned. The relaxing area is lined with loungers and also boasts a large skylight so you can look up to the sky whilst you’re swimming.<\/p>\n

Next we viewed the large, fully-equipped gym which rivals city centre private member’s gyms with its ultra-luxurious feel. Included in the rent, residents have access to top-of-the-range Matrix equipment including a squat rack, treadmills, a weight section and a prowler track. On one side are double-height, floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the public gardens. There\u2019s also beautiful yoga and barre studios that residents can enjoy.<\/p>\n

Taking the lift up to the seventh floor, we entered Paganini\u2019s resident lounge and roof terrace, named after a historic tavern that stood on Port Street around 200 years ago. The stunning space offers panoramic city views and is the perfect place to relax alone, dine or meet with friends from day to night.<\/p>\n

There is also an exclusive dining room which can be booked out by residents for special occasions, as well as an outdoor terrace featuring a dry bar with seating areas where you can take in the surrounding views.<\/p>\n

Entering the apartments, you’re greeted with a beautiful open-plan layout providing a spacious yet homely feel. Each apartment has been kitted out with the highest spec fixtures and fittings and decorated with curated art work by independent artists. In keeping with the Northern Quarter, the interiors combine rich colours, wood finishes and ambient lighting, creating a warm and cosy atmosphere.<\/p>\n

The apartments are now available to rent, with one beds priced from \u00a31,500 per month, two beds starting at \u00a31,900 per month and three beds priced from \u00a33,000 per month.<\/p>\n
