University of Stirling<\/strong> swimmer is the sole British woman to have broken 1:06 for the 100 breast and owns the top six times in domestic waters topped by her 1:05.37 national record set at the British Championships last year.\u00a0The 22-year-old also has a best of 2:21.86 in the 200 which makes her the third-fastest British woman all-time.<\/p>\nShe first reached the international podium at the 2024 short-course worlds with the women\u2019s medley relay squad that won silver.<\/p>\n
She arrived in Singapore for the World Championships top of the rankings in the 100 breast but came 18th in prelims. She dusted herself down and returned to finish fourth in the 200.<\/p>\n
Evans claimed her first international solo medal with 200 breaststroke silver at short-course Europeans in Lublin in December 2025.<\/p>\n
She said through Scottish Swimming: \u201cTo be the first female on the team is a really special moment for me. It gives me a lot more confidence in my abilities and makes me want to make Scotland proud at the Commonwealth Games.\u201d<\/p>\n
Also heading to Glasgow 2026 is Ben Higson who has been named Team Scotland Head coach. Higson is head coach at the University of Stirling where the programme numbers the likes of Scott, Tom Dean<\/strong>, Jack McMillan<\/strong> and Evans. He made his Scotland coaching debut at the 2014 Commonwealths which were also held in Glasgow.<\/p>\n\u201cIt\u2019s an absolute honour and a privilege to be part of Team Scotland again,\u201d he said. \u201cGlasgow 2014 was my first senior international coaching experience, and I can\u2019t wait to get back and experience that again.\u201d<\/p>\n
