{"id":74002,"date":"2025-05-04T13:57:08","date_gmt":"2025-05-04T13:57:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/74002\/"},"modified":"2025-05-04T13:57:08","modified_gmt":"2025-05-04T13:57:08","slug":"tracy-austin-and-jim-courier-agree-over-which-players-year-theyd-prefer-out-of-aryna-sabalenka-and-madison-keys","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/74002\/","title":{"rendered":"Tracy Austin and Jim Courier agree over which player&#8217;s year they&#8217;d prefer out of Aryna Sabalenka and Madison Keys"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Aryna Sabalenka and Madison Keys have both enjoyed great success this year, with the Belarusian continuing that trend at the Madrid Open.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/aryna-sabalenka-reveals-the-key-reason-why-she-was-able-to-beat-coco-gauff-in-the-madrid-open-final-after-winning-in-straight-sets\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sabalenka focused on herself to defeat Coco Gauff<\/a> in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/madrid-open\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Madrid Open<\/a> final, which the former won 6-3, 7-6(7-3).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/wta\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WTA<\/a> number one <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/aryna-sabalenka-makes-prediction-about-coco-gauff-straight-after-beating-her-and-taking-the-madrid-open-title\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sabalenka thinks she\u2019ll play many more finals with Gauff<\/a>, who is yet to win a tournament this season.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/aryna-sabalenka\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sabalenka<\/a> in contrast now has three wins to her name in 2025 so far, having also triumphed in Miami and Brisbane.<\/p>\n<p>She has now hit 20 WTA career titles, and continues to top the world rankings ahead of Iga Swiatek in second.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/GettyImages-2212634937-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Photo by Maria Gracia Jimenez\/Soccrates\/Getty Images\" class=\"wp-image-87977\" \/>Photo by Maria Gracia Jimenez\/Soccrates\/Getty ImagesMadison Keys\u2019s year chosen over Aryna Sabalenka\u2019s<\/p>\n<p>But former world number ones <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/tracy-austin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tracy Austin<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/jim-courier\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jim Courier<\/a> opted against the Belarusian when discussing which year they would prefer between hers and that of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/madison-keys\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Madison Keys<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ MORE:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/some-tennis-fans-slam-aryna-sabalenka-for-what-she-did-during-her-madrid-open-quarter-final-win-over-marta-kostyuk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Some tennis fans slam Aryna Sabalenka for what she did during her Madrid Open quarter-final win over Marta Kostyuk<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would take Madi Keys,\u201d Austin said on TC Live, with Courier agreeing: \u201cI would too.
