{"id":74249,"date":"2025-05-04T16:17:18","date_gmt":"2025-05-04T16:17:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/74249\/"},"modified":"2025-05-04T16:17:18","modified_gmt":"2025-05-04T16:17:18","slug":"green-t-in-port-glasgow-thank-loyal-customers-after-being-named-best-takeaway","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/74249\/","title":{"rendered":"Green T in Port Glasgow thank loyal customers after being named Best Takeaway"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A POPULAR Port Glasgow takeaway has been crowned the winner of this year&#8217;s Best Takeaway award.<\/p>\n<p>The team at The Green T Chinese\u00a0Takeaway, on 10 Prince Street, thanked loyal customers following the\u00a0Greenock Telegraph&#8217;s Best Takeaway Award 2025 win.<\/p>\n<p>The restaurant has been serving up tasty food for over 10 years.<\/p>\n<p>Leon Chai chef at the Green T (Image: George Munro) Chef Leon Chai has been working at the restaurant since 2017 and loves his job.<\/p>\n<p>He says the most popular dishes on the menu are the salt and pepper dishes and the classic chicken curry &#8211; but his favourite to make are the seafood dishes because\u00a0he loves Scottish seafood.<\/p>\n<p>The restaurant also do Facebook completions, offering customers the chance to win\u00a0free salt and pepper platters, which include spring rolls,\u00a0chips, and chicken balls.<\/p>\n<p>The manager of\u00a0Green-T has also been working at the takeaway for many years and says she is thankful for all of the support they receive from the people of Port Glasgow.<\/p>\n<p>She said: &#8220;We are so grateful to everyone who voted for us to win this award.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;A\u00a0big thank you\u00a0to all of our customers and regulars.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We will continue to work hard to keep making delicious food.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Thank you for all of your support.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The eatery also has a 4.4 star review on Google and\u00a0the takeaway has been branded as the &#8216;best in Port Glasgow&#8217;\u00a0by customers.<\/p>\n<p>One customer said: &#8220;Often expect there to only be good food in the big cities where competition drives up quality but Green T is a wee local star in a smaller place! Salt n Chilli chips are tremendous.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Another review said: &#8220;The best Chinese in Port Glasgow in my opinion. Staff are great, they are always happy to make some concoction I&#8217;m asking for.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m vegan and they have a number of options for me, and the food is always good.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Green T is open from 4pm to 11pm five days a week and has vegetarian and vegan options too.<\/p>\n<p>The Telegraph&#8217;s Best Takeaway competition called on the public to nominate their favourite eatery and then readers were able to cast their deciding votes, with Green T gaining the most.
