Emergency services, including police and paramedics, were called to the scene on <a aria-label=\"\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/all-about\/rochdale\" rel=\"follow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"\">Rochdale<\/a> Road near Royton at around 3.15pm.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">It was reported that a vehicle had struck two children, who were pedestrians. A cordon was put in place blocking the main road in both directions near to St Cuthbert&#8217;s High School.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">One child received minor injuries. The other, whose age has not been confirmed was rushed to hospital from the scene. The road remained closed for a number of hours as police made enquiries at the scene.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">A spokesperson for <a aria-label=\"\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/all-about\/greater-manchester-police\" rel=\"follow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"\">Greater Manchester Police<\/a> said: &#8220;At around 3.15pm on Wednesday 4 February 2026, police were called to reports of a collision on Rochdale Road in Oldham involving a car and two children.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">&#8220;One child received minor injuries and was treated at the scene. One child has been taken to hospital however injuries aren\u2019t deemed to be life-threatening or life-changing. The driver remained at the scene.
