Since Emmerdale\u2019s Paddy Kirk<\/a> (Dominic Brunt<\/a>) finally got his dad Bear Wolf<\/a> (Joshua Richards<\/a>) back in his life, he\u2019s been on one mission \u2013 protect Bear at all costs.<\/p>\n Paddy has spent months agonisingly searching for his dad after realising he never arrived at his friend\u2019s in Ireland. It transpired poor, vulnerable Bear had been trafficked by Ray Walters<\/a> (Joe Absolom<\/a>) and Celia Daniels<\/a> (Jaye Griffiths<\/a>) and held against his will to carry out forced labour<\/a>, just a few miles from home.<\/p>\n As Ray and Celia\u2019s crimes came to light, missing Bear reappeared in the nick of time as Paddy was having seven bells kicked out of him by Ray. Bear reacted instantly, grabbing Ray by the throat and suffocating him<\/a>.<\/p>\n Since then, Bear has struggled to come to terms with the fact he killed the man he felt had helped him, while Paddy and Dylan Penders<\/a> (Fred Kettle<\/a>) have furiously been trying to stop Bear accidentally giving his murderous game away<\/a>.<\/p>\n Bear is still having a really hard time and his grip on reality remains loose. Paddy locked him in a room for his own protection, but Bear made his escape in search of dead Anya\u2019s grave, where he bumped into Ruby Miligan<\/a> (Beth Cordingly<\/a>) and nearly revealed it all.<\/p>\n \t\t Paddy has been going out of his mind trying to contain Bear and his emotional outbursts, but his attention has been so caught up in his dad, he\u2019s forgotten about Dylan.<\/p>\n He\u2019s sworn Dylan to secrecy, but for Dylan, that secrecy cannot exclude April Windsor<\/a>\u00a0(Amelia Flanagan<\/a>). He makes an enormous mistake \u2013 he tells April that Bear killed Ray and that he watched it happen.<\/p>\n This is huge, not only because the more people who know weakens the chain, but that April is now part of the coverup.<\/p>\n \t\t Actor Dominic Brunt shared Paddy\u2019s worries with Metro.<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2018It\u2019s not just the fact that the secret is spreading, it\u2019s the fact that April is now implicated,\u2019 he said. \u2018If it all comes out, she can be done for withholding information if she knows what happened and doesn\u2019t tell the police.<\/p>\n \u2018It\u2019s not just the fact that it was just supposed to be a secret between the three. They tell Mandy but now April knows. And is April going to want to tell Marlon and Rhona? So it\u2019s more strings unravelling. April then does exactly what Paddy is afraid of \u2013 urges him to go to the police. It\u2019s the last thing Paddy plans to do.<\/p>\n Ray\u2019s murder hits the News, and Paddy decides it\u2019s now too risky to get crumbling Bear the help he needs.<\/p>\n Bear finds April crying and she confesses she\u2019s terrified of the police coming after her for her past. Her vulnerability encourages Bear to talk, and he reveals his sadness at killing Ray. April reassures him he is loved and tries to tell him Ray is a bad man, but this confuses and triggers Bear.<\/p>\n Paddy comes home to find his fragile dad in a state and April not much better, comforting them both with reassuring words that he promises to get Bear help.<\/p>\n But there\u2019s one other person spiralling who Paddy has to save \u2013 Dylan is swamped with crushing guilt, and he tells Paddy he\u2019s nothing but a curse \u2013 it\u2019s time for him to leave. But everything will be taken out of their hands with what happens next. \u00a0Will Bear be forced to answer to his crime?<\/p>\n Looks like he might have to with DC Walsh on the case.<\/p>\n \t\t \u2018Amanda Ryan who plays DC Walsh is just brilliant at playing this detective who just asks the right questions and it terrifies you,\u2019 Dominic shared. \u2018So it\u2019s great to play this bumbling character who\u2019s like: \u2018I don\u2019t know, I didn\u2019t say\u2026\u2019. And she double-bluffs him going: \u2018Yeah but you said this last time!\u2019 So it\u2019s great, I really like them little scenes and there\u2019s plenty of them.\u2019<\/p>\n But Paddy still thinks he can save them all, and Dominic gives a cheeky little hint that things will not end well for the local vet, with it all set to \u2018unravel\u2019 before his eyes.<\/p>\n \u2018Yes, I think he does, I think he truly believes that they\u2019ll get through this, it\u2019ll go away and nobody will be blamed and it\u2019ll just become a village secret. But soaps being soaps, there\u2019s got to be a moral outcome. His worst fear is that it all unravels and of course I think it does. I think!
