<\/p>\nA FISHPONDS teenager is among four people charged with murder after a man was stabbed to death in St Jude\u2019s this week.<\/p>\n
Mustafa Ali, aged 18, was due to appear before Bristol Magistrates Court today, alongside Ayoob Mohamed, also 18 and from St Paul\u2019s, Muner\u00a0Teclu, 20, of Easton, and 19-year-old Fallou Diop, of no fixed address.\u00a0<\/p>\n
They were charged last night by police investigating the killing of 47-year-old Leon Phillips, of St Philip\u2019s, who died in hospital on Tuesday from injuries suffered in an incident in Stapleton Road on Monday evening.<\/p>\n
Three other men were arrested after the incident: one man, aged 29, has been released from custody without charge and faces no further action, while two other men have been released on bail.<\/p>\n
Police say officers on patrol saw a group of men \u201cacting suspiciously\u201d on Stapleton Road at around 10.45pm on Monday.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
They chased after the group and detained them.<\/p>\n

About ten minutes later Mr Phillips was found seriously injured near the junction of Stapleton Road and Trinity Road (above).<\/p>\n
He was taken to hospital but died the following morning.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
The police Major Crime Investigation Team launched a murder inquiry.<\/p>\n
They said an initial\u00a0forensic post-mortem examination found the cause of death to be multiple knife wounds.<\/p>\n
Appeal for video footage<\/p>\n
Detective Chief Inspector Nadine Partridge, who is leading the investigation, said: \u201cOur investigation into Leon\u2019s death has been moving quickly, and the team has been working incredibly hard to understand exactly what happened on Monday night.<\/p>\n
\u201cA huge amount of time and care is going into building a clear picture of the events that led to this tragic loss.<\/p>\n
\u201cI also want to personally recognise the response officers who were first at the scene.\u00a0Their professionalism and response to this was exceptional, and their\u00a0actions\u00a0allowed us to make significant progress in the early stages of our inquiries.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur thoughts\u00a0remain\u00a0very much with Leon\u2019s family, and we are doing everything we can to support them.<\/p>\n
