More than 100 people defied the rain to take part in a Wassail event in Burley Park with folk music, dancing, singing and a procession.<\/p>\n

Organisers The Friends of Burley Park said there was an \u2018amazing array\u2019 of lanterns on display, and thanked all who contributed on Saturday, 31 January.<\/p>\n

This Sunday (8 February) volunteers will be putting out stakes to mark out and protect the areas recently planted, along with mulching and composting.<\/p>\n

New volunteers are very welcome. Meet by the bandstand at 10am. the event runs until 12pm.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re fortunate to have a small group of dedicated committee members who keep this fabulous volunteer organisation running smoothly,\u201d they said. <\/p>\n

\u201cHowever, to continue growing and strengthening what we do, we\u2019d really benefit from some extra hands and fresh ideas. <\/p>\n
