Liverpool\u2019s right-back department has been depleted during the 2025\/26 season.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jamie Carragher wanted a new defender signed<\/a> in the winter transfer window after Jeremy Jacquet.<\/p>\n

The 20-year-old is not linking up with Liverpool until after this season, leaving Arne Slot in a tricky position.<\/p>\n

And with Gomez potentially leaving Liverpool<\/a> in 2026, it seems obvious that a new full-back will be needed this summer.<\/p>\n

Bayern Munich confident of Givario Read deal<\/p>\n

On that front, one name who continues to be linked with Liverpool is Givairo Read<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A move for Read in January was impossible<\/a> due to his injury, but talk of a summer move for the player remains.<\/p>\n

However, the latest information from journalist Christian Falk<\/a> suggests Bayern Munich have a pre-agreement for the player and are \u2018very optimistic\u2019 about signing him.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cBayern remain confident that they\u2019re in the lead for Givairo Read. <\/strong>They have a clear plan in place for the Feyenoord fullback \u2013 he\u2019ll be playing at right-back. <\/p>\n

\u201cThis then frees up Josip Stani\u0161i\u0107 to return to centre-back and Konrad Laimer to the midfield, and it also means the centre-backs have more space to work with. I think playing time at a top club, which is guaranteed, is a big thing. <\/p>\n

\u201cBayern Munich are also prepared to pay big money, same as the English clubs, so I think this is a good opportunity. When I\u2019ve talked with the bosses at the club, I hear they\u2019re very optimistic that they can get this player. So, they should have some pre-agreement in place, I think.\u201d<\/p>\n

Read worked with Slot previously and Robin van Persie has labelled the full-back extremely hard-working<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Missing out on the defender to a European giant like Bayern could be a blow for the Premier League champions.<\/p>\n

But there have been suggestions this week that Liverpool<\/a> are exploring a transfer for another right-back.<\/p>\n

An inquiry for Zeki Celik<\/a> is said to have been made, with the AS Roma talent due to become a free agent later this year.<\/p>\n

Celik is a big fan of Trent Alexander-Arnold<\/a> and is also a capable centre-back.<\/p>\n
