{"id":746383,"date":"2026-02-06T14:11:10","date_gmt":"2026-02-06T14:11:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/746383\/"},"modified":"2026-02-06T14:11:10","modified_gmt":"2026-02-06T14:11:10","slug":"more-baby-formula-products-recalled-over-toxin-fears","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/746383\/","title":{"rendered":"More baby formula products recalled over toxin fears"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Several manufacturers, including Nestle and Danone, have issued recalls of infant formula that could be contaminated in more than 60 countries since December.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">These include batches of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.food.gov.uk\/news-alerts\/alert\/fsa-prin-02-2026-update-3\" class=\"ssrcss-edv9ii-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SMA, external<\/a>, made by Nestle, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.food.gov.uk\/news-alerts\/alert\/fsa-prin-05-2026\" class=\"ssrcss-edv9ii-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Aptamil and Cow &amp; Gate, external<\/a>, made by Danone. A total of 28 batches of baby formula products have now been recalled. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/articles\/c1lz2m02rzzo\" class=\"ssrcss-edv9ii-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Traces of the toxin were found in one batch of Aptamil First Infant Formula in January<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Danone and Nestle have given assurances to the FSA that recalled batches were produced some time ago and are unlikely still to be on UK shop shelves. However, they may be in cupboards at home, which is why parents and caregivers are being asked to check their supplies.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Cereulide is a toxin which is unlikely to be destroyed by cooking, or when making the infant milk.
