{"id":747790,"date":"2026-02-07T05:16:11","date_gmt":"2026-02-07T05:16:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/747790\/"},"modified":"2026-02-07T05:16:11","modified_gmt":"2026-02-07T05:16:11","slug":"neil-young-cancels-tour-of-uk-and-europe-including-date-in-cork-the-irish-times","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/747790\/","title":{"rendered":"Neil Young cancels tour of UK and Europe, including date in Cork \u2013 The Irish Times"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Canadian-American singer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/neil-young\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/neil-young\/\">Neil Young<\/a> has cancelled his upcoming tour of the UK and Europe with rock band The Chrome Hearts, saying it is \u201cnot the time\u201d for him to be playing live shows.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The 80-year-old musician has apologied to fans in a message posted to his official website, where he announced he has \u201cdecided to take a break\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Young was due to play Virgin Media Park in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/cork\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/cork\">Cork <\/a>in July alongside Elvis Costello. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">On Friday night, a message was posted to the Neil Young Archives website, which said: \u201cI have decided to take a break and will not be touring Europe this time.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">\u201cThanks to everyone who bought tickets. I\u2019m sorry to let you down, but this is not the time.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">\u201cI do love playing live and being with you and The Chrome Hearts. Love, Neil.
