Black Sabbath<\/a> bassist Geezer Butler<\/a> has admitted he is having \u201cnightmares\u201d and \u201cpalpitations\u201d ahead of the band\u2019s farewell show this summer.<\/p>\n

In February, the legendary metal band announced that they will play their last ever show at their beloved Villa Park<\/a> in Birmingham on July 5, with the iconic line-up of Butler alongside frontman Ozzy Osbourne<\/a>, guitarist Tony Iommi<\/a> and drummer Bill Ward set to play together for the first time in two decades.<\/p>\n

With the date starting to draw near, Butler has spoken to The Guardian<\/a> about how his nerves are now very real. \u201cI\u2019m already having palpitations,\u201d he said. \u201cIn fact, I had a nightmare last night.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI dreamed everything went wrong on stage and we all turned to dust,\u201d he added. \u201cIt\u2019s important that we leave a great impression, since it\u2019s the final time that people will experience us live. So it has to be great on the night.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the same interview, Osbourne also spoke about his concerns ahead of the gig<\/a>, after his health issues in recent years. The singer had a fall in 2019 that aggravated an earlier spinal injury<\/a>, requiring numerous surgeries, and he has also been diagnosed with a form of Parkinson\u2019s<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll be there, and I\u2019ll do the best I can,\u201d he said. \u201cSo all I can do is turn up.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cI\u2019m used to doing two hours on stage, jumping and running around. I don\u2019t think I\u2019ll be doing much jumping or running around this time. I may be sitting down.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re only playing a couple of songs each. I don\u2019t want people thinking \u2018We\u2019re getting ripped off\u2019, because it\u2019s just going to be \u2026 what\u2019s the word? \u2026 a sample, you\u2019re going to get a few songs each by Ozzy and Sabbath.\u201d<\/p>\n

Former\u00a0Rage Against The Machine<\/a>\u00a0guitarist\u00a0Tom Morello<\/a>\u00a0will be appearing at the event too and serving as Music Director, while the enormous line-up includes the likes of Metallica<\/a>, Slayer<\/a>,\u00a0Pantera<\/a>, Anthrax<\/a>, Lamb Of God<\/a>, Mastodon<\/a>,\u00a0Alice In Chains<\/a>, Halestorm, Gojira<\/a>, Billy Corgan<\/a>, Disturbed<\/a>\u2019s David Draiman,\u00a0Guns N\u2019 Roses<\/a>\u2019\u00a0Duff McKagan<\/a>, Limp Bizkit<\/a>\u2019s Fred Durst, Sammy Hagar<\/a>, Papa V Perpetua of\u00a0Ghost<\/a>,\u00a0Wolfgang Van Halen<\/a>,\u00a0Zakk Wylde<\/a>, Korn<\/a>\u2019s Jonathan Davis<\/a> and\u00a0Slash<\/a>. Earlier this week, the list got even longer with Aerosmith<\/a>\u2018s Steven Tyler<\/a>\u00a0and the surviving Soundgarden<\/a> members also joining the bill.<\/p>\n

Speaking to\u00a0NME\u00a0back in February<\/a>, Iommi and Sharon Osbourne teased what to expect from Sabbath\u2019s final concert, while also providing an update on Ozzy\u2019s health.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s really great. He\u2019s got Parkinson\u2019s, which we all know, but he\u2019s great and it doesn\u2019t affect his voice,\u201d said Sharon.<\/p>\n

Iommi added: \u201cThis will do him good, to do this show. It really will. That\u2019s what it\u2019s all about: he wants to get out and do something.\u201d<\/p>\n

Osbourne previously stated that he would\u00a0only be playing \u201clittle bits and pieces\u201d<\/a>\u00a0with Black Sabbath at the final reunion gig. The frontman has since\u00a0returned to the gym in order to prepare for the performance<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The concert will raise funds for three charities: Cure Parkinson\u2019s, Birmingham Children\u2019s Hospital and the Birmingham-based Acorns Children\u2019s Hospice \u2013 a Children\u2019s Hospice supported by Aston Villa Football Club.<\/p>\n
