An easyJet flight from Edinburgh<\/a> has been forced to divert after an emergency was declared mid-air. The EZY52GV flight to Paris Charles de Gaulle landed in Manchester just over an hour after taking off after an issue was raised.<\/p>\n

It left the capital at around 7.15am on Saturday before the squawk 7700 code was issued by the captain, signalling a general emergency. According to data from online tracker Flightradar24, the plane circled south of Manchester before heading north to land at the city’s airport<\/a> at 8.23am.<\/p>\n

The airline<\/a> later confirmed the diversion was due to a technical issue. Passengers were transferred to a replacement plane before continuing their journey.<\/p>\n

A statement issued by easyJet said: “Flight EZY3211 from Edinburgh to Paris CDG today diverted to Manchester due to a technical issue. The pilot performed a routine landing in Manchester and all passengers were transferred to a replacement aircraft and crew and continued onto their final destination, Edinburgh.<\/p>\n
