In a post shared on Facebook on Friday, February 6, a spokesperson for the fire station said: “Emergency services are aware of the Asda van that has moved from the Ford at Neen Savage and is now at Walfords Bridge.<\/p>\n
“There [are] no persons trapped and information has been passed on to the police and Environmental Agency.”<\/p>\n
In the comments, one person said: “When we lived at Neen Savage same thing happened to a box van about 15 years ago.<\/p>\n
“Got stuck halfway between Walfords bridge and the Ford. Very expensive recovery!”<\/p>\n
Another added: “Literally this was my shopping going down the river. Thankfully the driver was ok.”<\/p>\n
One person joked: “Ya can’t park there.”<\/p>\n
The news came after much of the region endured heavy rain this week causing issues with flooding.<\/p>\n
Cleobury Mortimer Fire Station later added that they had been called out to a number of instances of cars trapped in water.<\/p>\n
They said: “In the past 24 hours, our team has responded to two incidents involving vehicles caught in floodwaters.<\/p>\n
“Thankfully, both drivers are safe.<\/p>\n
